Criteria

There are five categories for the awards. They are:

Arts and Culture: The nominee has contributed to the arts and culture by helping to preserve or support any sector of the arts and culture, including literary, visual, performing, or creative arts.

Community & Humanitarian Service: The nominee has made a sustained contribution through efforts to community programs, social services, programs or organizations.

Business Employee: A manager or employee who has shown outstanding dedication, leadership and service. Nominees for this category require a letter of support from their employer.

Woman of Vision: The nominee has shown a significant commitment in her field and excels in leadership, entrepreneurial spirit or innovativeness in business. Nominees for this category are self-employed.

Woman of the Year: The nominee has demonstrated courage, dedication, strength, exceptional leadership abilities, and has set a positive example for others in our community.

Criteria for a Woman of Excellence

• Must be a resident of, or work in, Langley City or Township.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Has demonstrated her commitment in Langley community activities.
• Is a positive role model whose contribution encourages others.
• Nominees in all categories may be considered for Woman of the Year.
